Tropical Cyclone of the Day – Typhoon Wipha #TCOTD

September 18
2007 WIPHA 135 knots in the Western North Pacific

That little island in the eastern eyewall (dark blue) is Ishigaki. It had nearly 12 inches of rain and measured winds of 65.9 m/s (~148 mph). Somehow, this measured wind speed is only the second highest wind speed measured on the island?!?
